Country’s leading car manufacturer, Maruti Suzuki India has recently launched the new variant of their highest selling car in India, Alto 800 last-month (16 Oct). Now the Alto 800 has already gathered close to 45,000 bookings within this short time frame, it is selling like hotcakes. This of course, comes as no surprise considering Maruti Suzuki’s extensive dealer network across India.
In addition to having garnered almost 45,000 bookings, half of the booked Alto 800’s have already been delivered. The company is well equipped to manufacture 25,000 to 30,000 Alto 800s per month, which mean that customers will not have to deal with lengthy waiting periods. This is coupled with Maruti Suzuki’s success with its other cars like the Dzire, Swift and Ertiga have made the auto maker a force to be reckoned with.
In Indian auto industry, Maruti Alto 800 competes with Hyundai Eon and Tata Nano on price, performance and immediate delivery front. The new Alto 800 is available in seven variants with prices starting from Rs 2.44 lakhs for the base model and Rs 3.56 lakhs for the top-end variant of CNG+Petrol. The petrol variant offers fuel efficiency of 22.74 kmpl while a much in demand CNG variant called Alto Green offers fuel efficiency of 30.46 km per kilogram that is 13% more than the outgoing Alto Green variant.
The company engineers have been working on this model for the past 4 years and is seen with a fresh new look, smarter interiors, enhanced space and 15% more fuel efficiency than its predecessor.
