Maruti Suzuki still wants to keep its legendary model alive, Now  Maruti Suzuki as planned to launch similar vehicle as replacement of 800, which is expected to launched by this year end.  This new small car is expected to be based on the existing platform of Maruti Suzuki’s Alto. Under the hood, this new replacement car might use the age-old 800cc F8D engine that has been powering various models of Maruti 800 since 1983.

This new small car needs to fill in the shoes of the power-packed Maruti 800 that changed the future of cars in India a long time ago. In order to make this new car compliant with the recent times and customers’ expectations the F8D engine might undergo some upgrades. Almost a decade ago, Maruti rendered this engine with four valves/cylinders and fuel injection technology but in this era of cut-throat competition where car makers are making every possible move to win, Maruti needs to bring in technologically superior and efficient engines.

The price of new vehicle is expected to be around 2.40-2.50 lakh rupees. This price can help Maruti buyers from switching to other vehicles like like Hyundai Eon and upcoming small cars.
