In 2010, Mahindra & Mahindra stepped into two wheeler market by acquiring Kinetic Engineering’s two wheeler business. The first product to be launched was Mahindra Stallio 110cc motorcycle, but soon after its launch, the review they got was quite disappointing. With problems being faced in the gearbox, than the company stopped its production back in March-2011.
Since then, the Stallio 110cc has been spotted testing many a times in different places in India and now there are reports coming in that it is a revamped version of the Mahindra Stallio is expected to be launched in January-2013, but now the company has renamed the Stallio 110 as the Panthero 110. The new name of the bike retains Mahindra’s unique nomenclature in which company christened its product with names ending with letter ‘O’.
The Panthero 110 will get a new gear box and minor changes to the existing models including LED tail lamps. Earlier, Mahindra Stallio had has many technical issues, most of these were associated with its gear box, so we are expecting that this new model of the bike won’t have the similar problems. However, it will be powered by a same 110cc engine, 4-stroke motor producing 7.3bhp of peak power and 8Nm of peak torque. The engine is expected to be mated with a tuned 4-speed manual gearbox.
