Land Rover today launched its second-generation Range Rover Sport in India. This vehicle with its stunning looks of Evoque is all set to hit Indian market. The car shares primary suspension and transmission parts and key components of its aluminium monocoque chassis with the full-size Range Rover.
The new second-generation Range Rover is 62mm in length and 55mm in width, its approximately 149mm shorter than the flagship Range Rover, while its wheelbase is 178mm longer than that of its current holder. While talking about its interiors its well finished redesigned interiors offers more leg room and also space for an optional pair of electrically powered, fold-down, child-friendly seats forming a third row, making this a 7 seater SUV.
The second-generation Range Rover is powered by 3.0-litre diesel V6 and a 5.0-litre supercharged petrol V8. Both engines get a stop-start system and come mated to an eight-speed automatic gearbox and will be available in S, SE, HSE and Autobiography trim levels.
While talking about its price the new Range Rover Sport is cleverly about between Rs 1.09 crore for the 3.0-litre V6 diesel and Rs 1.65 crore for the top-end 5.0-litre SC petrol Autobiography variant.
