Lamborghini SUV called MLC, may hit production by 2015

After much speculation, now Auto Express has reported that Lamborghini is eager to reveal what its highly-talked-about SUV is all about. Whispers about Lamborghini revealing a drop-dead-gorgeous SUV are getting louder on various automobile websites. A number of automotive websites have been busy reporting news surrounding the upcoming Lamborghini SUV.

Currently, it is believed the Italian auto maker is all eager to excite car enthusiasts by offering an insight of its SUV at the 2012 Beijing Auto Show in April. The upcoming Lamborghini SUV based on the Porsche Cayenne will be called MLC, according to media reports and we hope that this name doesn’t stick for too long and pray that is just a temporary name tag given to the SUV, the MLC will replace the Lamborghini LM002 or more popular known as ‘Rambo Lambo.’

Way back in June 2011, there were reports of Lamborghini mulling a SUV based on the Porsche Cayenne platform and a sedan based on the Estoque concept that was shown at the Paris Motor Show in 2008. Later on in October 2011, Lamborghini confirmed that it was working on a third model line, but however remain tight-lipped regarding the form the new model will take, the SUV or a sedan.

The company’s preference was kept under wraps for several months until an Italian publication, QuattroRoute got hold of the spy shots of the concept SUV and spoiled Lambo’s long-kept secret. Experts on several auto websites also speculate the MLC will hit production by 2015, however Lamborghini officials have continued to remain tight lipped in regard with news about their SUV.
