What you see here are probably the first clear pictures of a pre-production KTM Duke being tested. Here’s what Abhinay Virkud saw somewhere in and around Pune and he was sharp enough to snap up a few shots to send it to our friends at OverDrive. A Bajaj-KTM Duke motorcycle was being tested around Pune and along with it were a few Bajaj motorcycles like the Pulsar 135LS around, further giving credence to the fact that the KaTooM could have been on test. What isn’t clear is whether the KTM Duke is sporting a 125cc or a 200cc engine.
The possibilities are that the 125 Duke may be retuned for India or may be a bored up 200cc version. We are however unsure of the engine present in the test bike. The KTM Duke’s 125cc engine puts out 15.3PS of power and 12Nm of torque and the bike features 17” inch, 110 section tyre and upside down telescopic forks up front and a 17”, 150 section tyre and a monoshock at the rear. The bike also boasts of a trellis frame. The KTM Duke 200 is expected to put out between 20-25PS. The bike is expected to be launched by Bajaj anytime soon. Fingers crossed for the 200!
