Husqvarna have unveiled the Svartpilen 200 scrambler, which will be one of their product launches here. It is reported that the Svartpilen 200 will be launched during the second half of 2020. This is set to be the Swedish company’s most affordable product as of when it opens store here.
The Svartpilen 200 will be based on the KTM 200 on sale here. Husqvarna look to benefit from their partnership with Bajaj Auto, who are also in ties with KTM. The Swedish company will initially be launching the Svartpilen 250 and the Vitpilen 250 here.
Both of them were unveiled recently during the India Bike Week 2019 held in Goa. The Svartpilen 200 will have minor changes compared to its 250cc sibling, thus retaining the bulk of its design. It will come with features such as a fully-digital instrument cluster, single-channel ABS, front and rear disc brakes, trip meter, stand down indicator etc. to name a few.
The Svartpilen 200 will borrow the 199.5cc, liquid-cooled, four-stroke engine seen on the Duke 200. This engine produces 24 BHP of power along with 19.5 Nm of torque. It will come mated to a 6-speed gearbox.
Husqvarna will hope to make a solid start in India, hoping that the Svartpilen 250 and the Vitpilen 250 will build on some sales momentum. The Svartpilen 200 is likely to be priced aggressively to maintain initial demand for customers. We can expect Husqvarna to roll-out the Svartpilen 200 at a price below the Rs. 2 lakh mark.
