A Kia Sonet test-mule was spotted completely undisguised, ahead of its debut next-month.
Kia’s first sub-4 meter SUV is based on the same platform as the Hyundai Venue in India. After the Kia Sonet’s world debut yesterday, the Korean carmaker is likely to commence the official bookings in next-few days with its prices starting from around INR 8 lakh and topping out at around INR 13 lakh.
The Kia Sonet is being offered in trims for Tech Line and GT Line. The car seen in these photos seems to be the trim of the GT Line, which is distinguished by red exterior accents. It also features a typical tiger nose grill and comes with headlights for LEDs and tail lights for LED light bars. The car has a double-tone exterior, and sits on alloy wheels of 16 inches.
On the inside, the Kia Sonet gets head-unit 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility and features 57 UVO Connect. Among other features, it has a digital instrument cluster, sunroof, automatic climate control with rear AC vents, cruise control, ventilated front seats, seven-speaker Bose audio system.
The Kia Sonet comes with three engine options. Those include a 1.0-liter turbo gasoline, 1.2-liter natural aspirated gasoline and a 1.5-liter diesel engine. The naturally aspired 1.2 liter petrol engine will produce 82 hp and 114 Nm torque. The 1.0-liter turbocharged petrol unit provides 118 hp and 172 Nm torque while the 1.5-liter diesel will deliver 98.6 hp and 240 Nm torque. All engines are equipped with a 6-speed manual, 6-speed automatic transmission and 7-speed automatic dual-clutch. The car also gets a clutchless 5-speed manual and 6-speed iMT clutchless gearbox.
