Recently we brought to you the spypictures of Hero MotoCorp’s dirt bike, now thanks to Motoroids reader Deepak Dongre for putting the wraps off the test bike. It did not take long for bike enthusiasts to strip down that disguised bike and find the original model on which the bike seems to be based. The bike caught being tested looks strikingly similar to the Honda NXR 150 Bros, a model sold in the Brazilian market.
Honda NXR 150 bros is known for its easy steering, rugged built, low maintenance and great performance both on and off the road. It suits the customers who come across country roads often and require the ruggedness of a proper dirt bike. The bike gets an under seat exhaust for better ground clearance.
The instrument panel has fuel gauge, odo, trip, turn signal indicators, high beam indicators and warning lights for Fuel Injection malfunction. The dirt bike weighs just 119 kgs and is available in red, orange and black colours. The NXR 150 Bros gets Honda’s “PGM-Fi” fuel Injection tech in Brazil which is also engineered to run on petrol or ethanol (a bio fuel), but the Indian version will only run on petrol. It remains to be seen if India gets the PGM-Fi tech.
Expect the bike to have a saree guard for India when Hero MotoCorp launches it later on in 2012. This is one of the bikes which Hero MotoCorp gets from Honda as part of its licensing deal which runs till 2014. We are not sure of engine specifications when launched in India.(See more pictures of Honda NXR150 Bros below the jump)
