Volkswagen Vento looks extremely up-market and feels much wider and well-proportioned than its competitors. Also the car has impeccable handling matched well with good quality of suspension. Now Tiger Sports have completely turned the regular Vento into a Racing car. The tuned Volkswagen Vento will compete in the Indian Touring Car Championship.
Although the car looks similar visually, the biggest change lies in the heart (engine). Tiger Sports has taken the 1.6-litre petrol engine from the regular Vento. Then the ECU has been remapped along with date logger which helps the 1.6-litre engine to increase the power output to 180bhp from 104 bhp! It is quite amazing that all these power is increased without using a turbocharger.
Furthermore, to increase the performance Tiger Sports has given lambda sensor for the perfect air-fuel ratio. Regular Vento comes with a 5-speed manual gearbox, but this engine is mated to a new 6-speed manual transmission with close ratio for abstracting the maximum performance from the engine without any lag. The folks here have also given limited slip differential.
The suspension setup and the chassis engineering was done by former racing driver Sanjay Balu. Tiger Sports Vento comes with KW suspension for razer sharp handling. KW is the official supplier for the World Touring Car Championship. With power boost, to make sure that the braking of the car is not compromised the car is also fitted with all four disc brakes.
Tiger Sports Vento only weighs 900kg which is whopping 220kg lighter than the stock Vento petrol. Tuned Vento have used advanced aerospace grade composite panels for the two vendors, bonnet, boot and the door, which considerably helps to reduce the weight of the Vento. Besides all the performance modification, the Tiger Sports tuned Vento certifies to FIA standards of safety as well.
