Pininfarina-designed Sonalika EVO coupe SUV never seen before footage

International Cars And Motors Ltd. (ICML) is a brand that is mostly rare and unheard of in the Indian car industry, which is a subsidiary of Sonalika Group. The company has a strong connect in the agriculture market, but their foray to make cars did not do well. Sonalika produced the Toyota Qualis inspired Rhino MPV, which never even came close to be called a Threat by its superior rivals a and sold in limited numbers.

It is rarely known that the company tied-up with Italian design house Pinnfarina in 2008, to develop a premium crossover which could be sold in developing markets. The car was supposed to be launched in 2008, but never saw the light of the day and now just remains a showpiece. These pictures are taken from the company’s headquarters in Hoshiarpur in Punjab, and are worth a thousand words.

Its no doubt that the car looks stylish even now. The sloping coupé like roofline, reminiscent of the BMW X6, really gives it a distinct personality and is light years ahead of the current crop of crossovers available here. Features of the car at the external-end include projector head-lamps, LED tail-lights joined by a Gloss black strip and a plastic finished rear bumper cladding having exhaust pipes on either side.

The car’s muscular stance is dominated by a bulky front-end. The car was supposed to be priced a little above Rs. 10 lakhs and it was developed as a top-secret model. Sadly, the car had seen its character finished even before it started.
