Rakesh Srivastava, senior vice-president (sales and marketing), Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) said ‘The company now plans to bring in one new model every year in a segment where it doesn’t have a presence’.
The report in Economic Times says that Hyundai will introduce four new SUVs in the Indian market over the next two years. The first SUV to hit the streets will be the much-awaited Hyundai Tucson which is scheduled to launch on November 14, while the second will be the 5-seater compact SUV slotted below the Creta which was previewed as the Carlino (HND-14) design concept at the 2016 Auto Expo.
However, the report does not go on to list of the remaining 2 SUVs, but the product in pipeline of the Korean carmaker offer hints of – all-new B-segment i20-based SUV that is set for markets across Europe, North America and Oceania, and the next-gen Santa Fe which is likely to see the light of the day by end-2018. Also expect the Creta, i20 Active and Santa Fe to get a mid-life refresh within next 2 years.
