Honda India recalls 72,115 units of second-gen City

Honda City second-gen recall

Japanese automaker Honda Motor will recall 72,115 units of its 2nd generation City that was built between 2005 and 2007, if you own this there is a chance that your car could be recalled by Honda to fix the defective power window switch. The recall is part of a preventive measurement initiative undertaken by the company to avoid any accident.

Although no incident has been reported in India, Honda India is extending the same exercise to the previously sold Honda City. Honda India is carrying out the part replacement as part of a global exercise by Honda Motor Company to ensure stringent quality standards for its products. The replacement would be carried out free of cost and the owners will be contacted by the dealers.

The 3rd Generation City (the current City on sales) is not affected and does not require any part replacement. Honda Siel Cars India Ltd. further clarified that the global recall does not impact the Honda Jazz and Honda CR-V sold in India.
