Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) recently revealed their plans on launching an electric scooter here. This will come in due to the growing demands of electric automobiles in India. At present, the scooter is being developed in Honda’s headquarters in Japan.
When launched, this will be the company’s first electric two-wheeler in India. As of now, Honda have not yet revealed when It will be launched. Minarets Kato, CEO of HMSI said that the company will target a minimum range of 100km for the electric scooter.
Honda recently launched the Grazia and the scooter is selling pretty well at present. Following the Grazia will be 10 new models slated for launch in the next 2-3 years. We can expect this electric scooter to be a part of the 10 new models.
Honda are addressing concerns like performance and pricing while developing this scooter. So, we can expect this scooter to come at a completely good package. When launched, it will rival the TVS Ntorq 125 in the Electric scooter segment.
If this proves to be a success, we can expect more electric two-wheelers in the pipeline from Honda In the coming years. It is now clear that Honda wants a foothold in the electric two-wheeler market. Expect details of the scooter to arrive more sooner than later.
