Seems like most of Hero products, Xtreme Sports too made its launch silently in the market. Yes, you heard right! Hero Motocorp has now silently launched the Xtreme Sports in India at a price tag of Rs 72,625 (ex-showroom Delhi). The company has already listed Xtreme Sports to its official site, earlier this-month.
The Xtreme Sports is the sportier version of the Xtreme equipped with more features.
The Xtreme Sports is the sportier version of the Xtreme, it gets the new ‘wolf eye’ headlamps, redesigned tank and side panels and a new cowl beneath the engine. It has also been equipped with a wider rear tubeless tyre, a new handle bar, split seats and revised front and rear fenders. In true Hero fashion, the Xtreme Sports also gets a host of new colour options and decals.
The major change is in the heart of motorcycle. While the Xtreme Sports is powered by the same 149.2cc used in the regular Xtreme, the power has been increased from 14.2bhp to 15.2bhp and the torque has been bumped up from 12.8Nm to 13.5Nm. Also worth mentioning- this is the same engine which is used in CB Unicorn/ Trigger from Honda, albeit with lesser power outputs.
The 149.2cc engine is tweaked to offer 15.2bhp of power & 13.5Nm of torque.
The Xtreme Sports will be offered in 2 variants and 5 colour options. The 2 variants include, one with rear drum brake and the other with rear disc brake, with the latter being priced at Rs 75,725 (ex-showroom Delhi). The five paint schemes on offer are – Black with Red, Pyro Orange, Mercuric Silver, Panther Black and Fiery Red.
The Xtreme Sports comes to rescue when Suzuki’s single model Gixxer 155 almost equals all the four well-established rivals (Xtreme, Impulse, Hunk) will directly compete with the Suzuki Gixxer 155, Yamaha FZ/FZ-S and Honda CB Unicorn 160 for now.
