Hero MotoCorp are keen on adding another 125cc scooter to their line-up alongside the Maestro 125. They did showcase one during the 2018 Auto Expo, which was named the Duet 125. Now, it is all but confirmed that the scooter will be christened the Destini 125.
The Destini 125 was spotted recently without any camouflage. It has the same design as the 110cc Duet, but will be offered with more features. These include a halogen headlamp, LED tail-lamp and chrome on the side body panels.
It also has features like an analogue-digital instrument cluster, external fuel filler cap and body-coloured mirrors. The Destini 125 will have telescopic front forks at the front and a single shock absorber at the rear. It will also be the first Hero scooter to come with the famed i3S technology, which switches off the engine in traffic to conserve fuel.
The Destini 125 will be powered by a 124.6cc single-cylinder engine. This engine gives 8.7 BHP of power along with 10.2 Nm of torque. It comes mated to a CVT transmission, seen on the Maestro 125.
We can expect the Destini 125 to be priced at around Rs.55,000 (ex-showroom, Delhi). The Destini 125 will rival the likes of the Suzuki Access 125, TVS NTorq, Honda Grazia and the Aprilia SR125. As far as our say is concerned, it looks like a good strategy from Hero Motocorp to give the Duet 125 a new name, which will surely help boost some buyers.
