As promised Bajaj Auto unveiled all-new 2012 model of Pulsar in January-2012. It has been christened ‘Pulsar 200NS’. But it was expected that Bajaj was about to upgrade the entire Pulsar line-up. The face-lift was much needed because the Pulsar was launched almost a decade ago. The Pulsar 200NS is all-new in terms of styling and technology.
Remember the last Pulsarmania ad which created a huge wave across the nation, specially to all the Pulsar loving enthusiasts. That ad promoted all Pulsars and Bajaj has released a new television commercial dubbed Pulsar Mania 2.0, the advertisement features stunts drawing emphasis to the power and performance of the Pulsar 200NS.
This ad campaign is predicted to draw more attention to the vehicle at a time when the market is seeing more and more new launches in the 200cc to 300 cc segment. The new Pulsar 200 NS ad shows 3 bikes performing stunts around a theme park.
Agreed, that the new Pulsar 200 NS is more powerful and is a totally different bike from the original Pulsar 200, which was launched six years back. But, somehow, it feels that Bajaj has overdone the stunts. It does not look as real as the Pulsar 200 free-biking ad. You can watch both the ads below and compare for yourself.
Refresher – Pulsar 200 NS engine will have 3 sparks – Triple Spark Ignition System instead of the traditional twin – spark system which are seen in the current Pulsar motorcycles. Pulsar 200 NS is powered by a 199.5 cc engine that will generate a maximum power of 23 bhp @ 9,500 rpm and will deliver a maximum torque of 18.3 Nm at 8,000 rpm. Transmission is through a 6-speed gearbox.
