RENDERED: Honda CB Hornet 160R derived full-fairing motorcycle on the works!

Very little is said to be known about the upcoming full-faired Honda CB Hornet 160R because such a version does not exist anywhere in the world and is been developed exclusively for the Indian market.

From the promised 4 new products by Honda Motorcycle India for this-year, two out of them will be the scooters while the remaining two will be motorcycles. Though the company officials had confirmed, one will be the Honda Africa Twin adventure tourer motorcycle, they refused to divulge any details about the second motorcycle but hinted that it would be a ‘fun’ bike and will be a part of commuter segment.

The Zigwheels publication reports that the Honda’s second motorcycle, might be the CB Hornet 160R with full-fairing. Though there is no solid evidence, the report do make sense as Suzuki had achieved great success with a faired sibling of Gixxer called ‘Gixxer SF’ and its contemporary muscular design is likely to be carried on the fairing too, drawing design cues from the bigger Honda sportsbikes.

The same BSIV compliant 162.71 cc single-cylinder air-cooled engine from the CB Hornet 160R will be used. This engine produces 15.66 bhp at 8,500 rpm and 14.76 Nm of torque at 6,500 rpm, mated to a 5-speed gearbox. It will be launched in last-quarter of this year and may be priced at about Rs 8-10k more than regular Hornet. Obviously, the faired version will be slightly heavier than its naked sibling.
