Elon Musk threatens to move Tesla outside California

Tesla, Inc. has sued Alameda County, California. The move comes after local officials did not authorize the firm to reopen its factory in Fremont. The case calls for a permanent injunction against the county’s shelter-in-place order.

Elon Musk is threatening to move Tesla’s headquarters from California to Texas or Nevada, where less strict laws are in place due to Covid-19 pandemic outbreak.

The Governor of California released new guidelines that allowed the reopening of manufacturing companies. But they have allowed individual counties to apply their own laws. A shelter-in-home rule was enforced by Alameda County up till May 31, 2020.

Tweets from Elon Musk-Tesla’s CEO warned that the company should consider moving its headquarters from California to Texas or Nevada states, where less stringent laws are in place due to the Covid-19 pandemic outbreak.
