We are just few weeks away from GM India’s launch of all new Chevrolet Sail sedan, the teaser image of Chevrolet sail sedan is uploaded in GM’s official website. Sail will be the GM India’s first launch of the year 2013 and is much similar to Chevrolet’s recently launched Sail hatchback. Being promoted as ‘the new definition of style’, sail sedan has- designed to turn heads, Excellent leg room, Generous boot space, Safe Cage structure for occupant safety -says the GM website.
Both petrol and turbo diesel engines will be offered on the Sail sedan. The petrol engine is the 1.2-litre, naturally aspirated SMARTECH motor that outputs a peak power of 86 PS while peak torque is rated at 113 Nm. This petrol engine is mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox. The 1.3-litre turbo diesel engine outputs 77 Bhp-210 Nm and is also mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox.
Many other active and passive safety features of the car have been disclosed by the company.
The passive safety features include:
- Speed Sensitive AUTO DOOR LOCKS,
- Anti-lock Brake System (ABS)
- Electronic Brake Force Distribution (EBD)
The active safety features include:
- Airbags
- Seat Belts with Pre-tensioner
- Crumple Zones
- Collapsible Steering System
- Side Impact Beams
It is also offered with features like FUN WIDE Bluetooth® phone pairing & music streaming to enhance the driving fun and convenience.
Price: The Chevrolet Sail Sedan is expected to have a sticker price of Rs. 6.00 lakhs for the base petrol variant.
With its head- turner looks, convenient interiors and competitive price, sail sedan is definitely going to give its already-doing-superb competitors like Swift Dzire and Mahindra Logan, a run for their money.
