The already sporty looking Chevrolet Beat gets tuned to look even more sportier with a set of scissor doors (also know has beetle-wing doors, jack-knife doors, switchblade doors, Lamborghini doors, Lambo doors), these are automobile doors that rotate vertically at a fixed hinge at the front of the door, rather than outwardly as with a conventional door.
Thanks to our regular reader Daniyal Ebrahim for sending us some snaps of the Chevrolet Beat with Lambo Doors from Mangalore. The Beat with Lambo Doors seen here is a diesel LT variant without any modifications under the hood. It is powered by a 1.0-liter three cylinder XSDE diesel engine good for about 58PS and 150Nm of torque with ARAI certified fuel efficiency of 24kmpl.
The other modifications seen on this modified Beat are the faux carbon fibre accents on the bonnet and rear. The other additional touches given at the side fender of the vehicle adds more muscular look. If you observe the car carefully you’ll notice a sun-roof that is straight away borrowed from its elder sibling Cruze and it’s also available as an accessory for Beat at GM dealers accessories zone.
To be frank I myself own a Chevrolet Beat petrol variant and for me the current-Beat itself looks more funkier than the recently launched new Maruti Ritz. If you people agree or not please do comment below?
Refresher – Chevrolet Beat engine line-up includes 1.2-litre petrol engine, 1.2-litre petrol-CNG dual fuel variant and a 1.0-litre diesel engined model in India. However, the diesel engined model is very specific to the Indian car market, with GM’s engineers downsizing the 1.3-litre MultiJet turbo diesel engine that General Motors jointly developed with Italian automaker Fiat.
