The 2017 Chevrolet Beat Activ LHD has been spotted testing by our spy photographer at Tumkur Road, Bangalore, and it appears to be a heavily camouflaged.
Although the front and rear ends have been covered-up, Chevrolet has already revealed the design styling of the upcoming Beat Activ at the 2016 Auto Expo. Referring to the mid-life facelift of the regular Beat in the Indian-market, it will only bring minor changes with the visual updates. So, it is safe to assume that new Beat for India is a facelift, and not a new generation model sold in other markets.
Perhaps the largest update to this mid-life facelift is on the front and rear ends. It will sport a new 2-part grille with sleek chrome lining, bigger headlamps, and the lower bumper design too is fresh, obvious from the different sizes of the fog lamp housings and central vent, which is now underlined by another strip of vents on the lip. Down the back, it gets redesigned tail-lamps and a repositioned registration plate mount.
Back to the story at hand, the highlights of the Beat Activ are the crossover bits that boost the appeal like the black plastic body cladding, silver skid plates, roof rails, diamond-finish alloy rims shod by chunkier tires and taller ground clearance. As per reports in Overdrive, the Beat Activ crossover alongside the all new Chevrolet Beat will launch in end-2016.
Unlike the Current Beat petrol, the Beat petrol facelift doesn’t get the 1.2-litre 4 cyl engine, making do instead with the 1.0-litre 3 cyl petrol engine (a 3 cyl version of the 1.4-litre 4 cyl Ecotech offered on the global Spark), while the Beat diesel will continue to use 1.0-litre 3 cyl TCDi diesel engine. Transmission options will include 5-speed manual gearbox. An option of AMT could also be offer.
