The V15 is the Bajaj Auto’s fourth product in the 150cc segment, after the Bajaj Pulsar 150, Bajaj Discover 150 and the Bajaj Avenger 150 Street.
The company has already obtained more than 3,000 bookings for the V15 just ahead of its official launch, which is scheduled for March 23, 2016. Deliveries of the motorcycles will start only after the launch in next couple of weeks.
The V15 will be powered by a tried-and-tested 149.5 cc air-cooled single-cylinder engine with DTS-i technology, paired to a 5-speed transmission. This unit produces 11.8 bhp of peak power at 7,500 rpm and 13 Nm of peak torque at 5,500 rpm. Stopping power comes from disc brakes at the front and drum brakes at the rear.
The major highlight of the motorcycle is that it has been built from scrap metal of INS Vikrant, Indian Navy’s first ever aircraft carrier. Other noteworthy features include removable rear cowl, wider tyres, LED tail lamp in chrome casing, and an analog-digital instrument console with colour-changing LED indication.
