Bajaj Avenger 400 – bigger and more powerful planned for mid-2017

The Bajaj Avenger has come a long way over the years. Spotting a classic design, it was first born as the Eliminator in 2002, developed jointly by Bajaj and Kawasaki, which the market was not ready for.

The Avenger 400 is likely to launch in both Street and Cruise avatars in mid-2017.

Demand for cruiser bikes increased thereafter, promoting Bajaj to launch one of their own, christened the Avenger in 2006. It was well received. In 2015, the popular cruiser from Bajaj was given a massive update with excellent job. The retro design can replicate their success with a higher displacement cruiser, and we expect it will maintain familiarity to its siblings.

After the success of the recently launched Dominar, Bajaj Auto is looking to give the Avenger the 373.2cc liquid cooled single cylinder engine. The design will remain classic yet timeless on our roads, and it could see an increase in its power torque to take care of cruising duties. The performance figures also could vary from their performance machines.

The Avenger 400 could get features like Electric start, Speedometer, Tachometer, Fuel gauge etc. Windscreen and Pillion back rest could be present considering that they are optional in the current-range. It could be priced aggressively by Bajaj, reports suggesting that it could be priced around 1.5 – 1.8 lakh, which undercuts it’s rivals by a decent margin.
