It was reported earlier this year that Audi is working on a new coupe-like sedan that would compete with the likes of the Porsche Panamera and the Mercedes-Benz CL. Known as the Audi A9, the model was reported to be much more advanced than the A7, which was originally thought to be the answer to the Mercedes-Benz CLS and Porsche Panamera types.
Well, it’s time to forget everything you know about the A9. According to a new report by AutoBild, the Audi A9 will be a two-door coupe based on the A8 platform and will source its main components from the MLB architecture (Modular Longitudinal Architecture)
Power for the Audi A9 will come from a new 4.0L V8 being developed by the company along with a range of other V6 and V8 units found in the A8 range.
Look out for the Audi A9 sometime in 2014.
