Piaggio India officially launched the much-awaited Aprilia SR 150 premium scooter in the domestic market at an introductory price of Rs 65,000 (ex-showroom, Delhi).
The aggressive introductory price tag will grab the buyers of the Honda Activa 125 and the new Suzuki Access 125. The SR 150 premium scooter will be sold through Vespa showrooms across India. But a dedicated space inside the showroom will be allotted for the Italian brand.
As we reported last-week, the bookings for the premium scooter had already commenced further it can be ordered online via PayTm for Rs 2,000. Being manufactured at Piaggio’s plant in Baramati, the SR 150 deliveries are expected to commence soon, as the scooters have started reaching showrooms to greet customers.
The best looking scooter on-sale in the Indian market today get its engine from the Vespa 150s. This single-cylinder, 4-stroke, 150 cc engine produces 11.4 BHP @ 7000 rpm and 11.5 Nm @ 5,500 rpm, mated to a CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission). Stopping power is handled by a 220mm disc brake with bybre calliper at front and a 240mm drum brake in the rear.
A total of 2 colours will be available on the SR 150 – Matte Black and White. It rides on 14-inch spoke wheels shod with 120/70 profile tubeless tyres and has fuel tank capacity of 6-litres, that will give a range of around 240 kms.
