Japanese car maker, Mitsubishi is all-set to unveil its 2016 Pajero Sport on August 1, 2015 in Thailand, ahead of the debut the SUV was spotted while undergoing a TVC shoot, the photographer snapped it from a high-rise residential building nearby.
The legendary SUV is now in its third-generation disguise seems to follow a design theme in the footsteps of its pickup truck sibling the Triton which was launched earlier this year. The vehicle gets an swept-back headlamps with neatly integrated LED DRLs. A twin slat chrome grill accommodates the Mitsubishi logo in chrome. And the fog lamp appears to be positioned quite low.
Side profile largely resembles the current generation Pajero Sport. Over to the rear, the SUV gets wraparound tail lamp clusters with a “tail” that goes right down to the bottom edge of the tailgate. At the moment, we don’t have much information about the interior but going by what the Triton has to offer we can say that the Pajero Sport’s cabin will look pretty much the same.
As far as engine is concerned, the 2016 Pajero will possibly get an all-new 2.4-liter four-cylinder MIVEC turbo-diesel engine that’s good for 181 PS and 430 Nm; a new 6-speed transmission will be paired to this engine. That said, there will also be an automatic transmission available. Some markets will also get a 2.5-litre diesel and a naturally-aspirated 2.4-litre petrol engine.
In India, the 2016 Mitsubishi Pajero Sport will make way sometime in the first half of 2016.
