Datsun is looking forward to start 2018 with a bang. The Nissan-owned carmaker will look to launch an automatic version of its Redi-Go hatchback. This will come in a bid to give the customer an option of AMT for the affordable Redi-Go.
The Redi-Go Automatic will come with a 5-speed AMT gearbox, seen on its cousin, the Renault Kwid AMT. Datsun will give this to the 1.0 litre Redi-Go. This 999cc engine will produce 68 bhp of power and 91 Nm of torque.
Since launch is expected to take place in the end of January, expect Datsun to show more India- specific cars in the Auto Expo 2018 in February. Datsun will immediately look to launch the Go cross and the facelifted Go and Go+ in 2018. The Redi-Go AMT is expected to cost about Rs.30,000 more than the manual one.
Prices are expected to be in the region of 4 lakhs once the car gets launched. The Redi-Go AMT will rival the AMT versions of the Renault Kwid, Tata Tiago and Maruti Suzuki Alto. Datsun will hope that it’s best seller keeps on bringing profits for them.
