BA readers know we earlier reported to you that Hero Honda which post break up has become Hero MotoCorp will be launching a dirt bike for the Indian market before the end of this year. Now an AutoCarIndia reader Prateek Khandelwal has managed to click the spy pictures Hero MotoCorp’s first, exciting motorcycle in Haldwani’s (Uttarakhand).
The bike is fully camouflaged but we are able to makeout the visual appearance. The bike totally follows the retro dirt bike image and is meant to survive the potholes and undulating Indian roads and climate. The bike features a long travel telescopic front suspension, high floating front mudguard, a visible high set fuel tank, monoshock rear suspension, digital instrumentation, spoke wheels, tubular steel frame, exposed chain, front discs and rear drums.
The ground clearance is very high and the dirt bike could feature a 150-200 cc engine which would be a four-stroke, single-cylinder, air-cooled unit. The engine would be mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox and will most likely be tuned for low to mid-range torque. But there is no word out officially confirmed from the company yet.
Very soon by August 9, 2011 Hero MotoCorp will inform us about their future strategies in an event at London UK. Stay tuned as we will keep you informed about new developments about Hero MotoCorp.
