Maruti Suzuki India has announced a big recall of 69,555 diesel vehicles (55,938 units of Old Dzire, 12,486 units of Old Swift and 1,131 units of Ritz) manufactured between 8th March 2010 and 11th August 2013 to inspect and repair wiring harness kit. Apart from the above mentioned cars, no other models will be affected by this recall.
The company claims that the problem with the wiring harnesses was noticed based on feedback monitoring and internal checks. Accordingly proactive action has been initiated in the interest of customers.
Maruti Suzuki dealers will contact owners of all the affected vehicles. The dealer workshop technicians will inspect the wiring harness fitment condition and carry out the necessary repairs, free of cost.
The customer is requested to fill in the chassis number (MA3 or MBH followed by 14 digit alpha-numeric number) on the computer screen. The chassis number is embossed on the vehicle ID plate and is also in the vehicle invoice / registration documents.
Customers canĀ also contact the nearest Maruti Suzuki dealer workshop to ascertain if their vehicle is among the above vehicles.
