As per the reports obtained from 99Cars, TVS Apache which is well known for its sportier look and excellent handling in fact would be available in 250cc variant along with an updated RTR 180 variant in pipeline. As already read by our dear readers in our previous posts at BharathAutos, In April 2013 bigger and sportier version of the current TVS Apache 180 was spotted at the VRDE (Vehicle Research and Development Establishment) facility in Ahmednagar, Maharashtra. The new Apache 250cc is expected to compete the likes of KTM RC200 and Honda CBR 250R in the Indian market. The all-new Apache 250cc and the updated RTR 180 will boast a ‘Honda-like’ Combi Braking System which TVS is already said to be testing on the existing RTR 180.

The new Apache 250cc also features improved ABS system, new Michelin soft-compound tyres and balancers to keep the NVH levels reasonable. Both the upcoming models is expected to share parts like foot-pegs, rear disk brake assembly, indicators, handle bar grips and front mudguard with the RTR 180. Coming to the technical specifications, the new Apache 250cc might be powered with a 250cc liquid cooled engine which produces a maximum power of 39 PS at 12000 RPM and at a maximum torque of 23 NM at 9500 RPM which was earlier showcased on the TVS Draken concept at the 2014 Auto Expo earlier this-year.
