Honda is really on a roll in India. They have their hands full, as they have already revealed their 2014 launches, the new Honda City, the new Honda Jazz and the new all-new Honda Mobilio. These three new cars are expected to be launched at the 2014 Auto Expo which will be held in February. Along with these three new cars, Honda will also display the Freed MPV at the 2014 Auto Expo.
Indians love large MPV’s, because they offer style, combined with performance, and above all, they have on offer, utility, which we all love. The large MPV segment is a fast growing one and sports the likes of the Chevrolet Tavera, Mahindra Xylo and Toyota Innova, and the Innova has been ruling this segment ever since it was launched back in 2005 but now, Honda wants a piece of the cake. Honda plans to take the MPV segment in India by storm, first, they plan to launch the Honda Mobilio MPV at the Auto Show which will compete with the likes of the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga, and they don’t want to leave the large MPV segment untouched too. Honda will display the Freed MPV at the Auto Expo, which is a large MPV and will compete with the likes of the Innova. The Freed will get both, petrol and diesel engine options, luxurious and spacious interiors and the best in safety and infotainment features. And of course Honda’s legendary quality and reliability. The Freed is expected to be launched by 2016.
Honda’s plant is already churning out cars at full capacity, thanks to the influx of orders for the Amaze. With these three new launches coming up next-year, Honda will have their hands full, they already have. The new Honda City has already got so many pre-launch bookings that, there is already a two-month waiting period for it before the launch, but it looks like Honda had it all planned out, because, by the time these cars are launched, Honda’s new Tapukara plant in Rajasthan will be fully functional and can produce an additional 10,000 cars every month which in turn, will help Honda deliver these cars on time and reduce waiting periods.
