Auto maker Tata Motors today said it has bagged an order to supply around 250 ‘Tata Prima’ trucks to LINFOX Logistics, a leading supply chain solutions company in the Asia Pacific region.

“LINFOX has placed a bulk order for 250 Tata Prima 4928.S tractors and will gradually change its complete fleet to the Tata Prima range of vehicles,” Tata Motors said in a statement.

While the company has not disclosed the value of the order, Tata Motors said it plans to complete deliveries in the next two years.

Since October 2010, Tata Motors started deliveries and by March 2011, it will add 50 Tata Prima 4928.S tractors to LINFOX’s fleet, it added.

Commenting on the order, LINFOX Logistics (India) Pvt Ltd Country Manager Ben Sullivan said: “We find Tata Prima to be of a standard comparable to the global brands, which we use in our other markets. With Tata Prima, we are confident of reducing our trip time and hence transporting more goods with lesser number of vehicles in our fleet.”

Tata Prima range of products was first launched in November 2009. It has been jointly developed by Tata Motors and its two subsidiaries, Tata Daewoo Commercial Vehicle Company in South Korea and the Tata Motors European Technical Centre plc in the UK.
