After making an appearance at the 2018 Indian Auto Expo earlier this-year, the all-new Hero Xtreme 200Rhas now been launched in India at Rs. 89,900 (ex-showroom, Delhi), making it the most affordable 200cc motorcycle, competing with the likes of TVS Apache RTR 200 4V (Rs 91,600) and Bajaj Pulsar 200NS (Rs 95,300).
Hero Xtreme 200R will be made available at all Hero dealerships across the country in a phased manner.
The Xtreme 200R does not get fuel injection and the engine is reported to be a heavily reworked unit of the Achiever 150. Powered by a 199.6 cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine that produces 18.1 BHP @ 8,000 rpm and a peak torque of 17.1 Nm @ 6,500 rpm mated to a 5-speed transmission.
Braking is handled by 276 mm and 220 mm disc brakes in the front and rear respectively. It comes equipped with single channel ABS as a standard safety feature. The bike rides on 17-inch alloy wheels finished in black. It features 37 mm telescopic front forks and has an adjustable monoshock at the rear.
The Hero Xtreme 200R becomes the first motorcycle in its 200cc segment to offer abs as a standard feature.
The Xtreme 200R features a dual-tone colour scheme with “Xtreme” decals on the sides, the front cowl has LED pilot lamps and houses a digital-analogue combination instrument cluster. A total of 5 colours are available on-sale – Panther Black with cool Silver, Panther Black with Red, Sports Red, Charcoal Grey with Orange and Techno Blue.
Most affordable 200cc bike gets ABS (Anti-Lock Braking System) as standard, however, it makes the least power compared to the likes of TVS Apache RTR 200 4V and Bajaj NS 200.
