After months of spyshots, Volkswagen has finally added a new top-spec variant to its popular Vento sedan line-up in India, bringing with it an updated equipment list.
The Vento Highline Plus trim will be positioned above the Vento highline trim. The new top-spec trim will carry forward all the features of the highline trim, additionally come equipped with full-LED headlamps, along with LED daytime running lamps and a reverse camera as standard. The sharp looking mid-size sedan is also likely to gain a new set of 16-inch alloys.
The new top-spec trim will be offered with the same engine options as other variants – a 1.2-litre TSI petrol, a 1.6-litre MPI petrol and a 1.5-litre TDI diesel. However, 1.5-litre TDI is a updated unit with 110 PS of power as seen on the Ameo and new Skoda Rapid. There is even speculation that a 1.4-litre TSI petrol unit is also in the offering. Transmission options include a manual gearbox and a DSG automatic unit as well.
Available in both petrol and diesel, the Vento Highline Plus is priced at a premium of around Rs 80,000 over the Highline trim. Dealers have commenced the bookings for an amount of Rs 75,000. Some dealers have even started receiving the first batch of TSI DSG gearbox-equipped Vento Highline Plus trim and are promising deliveries for the other engine/gearbox options in next 6 weeks.
