The 2017 Toyota Corolla Altis (facelift) has made its first public appearance in Russia. As per the officials at Toyota, the update would be released to other markets soon, and it will serve as a mid-cycle refresh for the 11th generation Corolla, which is on-sale since 2013.
The updated Toyota Corolla now features a sharper front fascia and a mildly-tweaked rear fascia. The front has been completely restyled to highlight a wider vehicle stance and a more prestigious design. It incorporates Toyota’s Under Priority and Keen Look design language featuring a small upper grille flanked by new LED headlamp clusters, including new LED light guides & revised front bumper incorporating a large lower grille.
Step-inside, you’ll notice nothing much has changed. The centre stack now gets circular AC vents, 4.2-inch MID on instrument console with latest software, improved illumination of AC dials and a new standard Touch 2 infotainment system with navigation, further, the materials and upholstery quality has been improved. Rear AC vents & a 12V outlet cater to those at the back. The climate control unit and noise insulation has been updated.
In India, the facelifted Toyota Corolla Altis is likely use the same 1.8-litre naturally aspirated petrol and 1.4-litre turbo diesel engines that power the current model, while there are unconfirmed reports that Toyota is working on 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol variant to launch in China, this small engine already offered in the Toyota Auris, and is planned to be offered in the Toyota C-HR compact crossover as well.
2017 Toyota Corolla Altis (facelift) will go on-sale in Russia later this year before make it to India sometime next year.
