Ford had imported numerous units of the next generation Ford Endeavour in India in March for R&D purposes. And it looks like that those test mules have started hitting the Indian roads. A test vehicle of the next-gen Endeavour has been seen doing rounds in Tamil Nadu with minimal camouflage. Taking into account the Ford Ranger pick-up, the new Endeavour dons a bulbous configuration contrasted with the outgoing model.
It has a body-on-frame construction and will come in seven-seater guise. The Endeavour in its next generation comes shod with projector headlamps, a trapezoidal grille, a rooftop mounted back spoiler, six-spoke alloy wheels, new tail lamps and all new interiors. The bumpers, which have been covered in the images are expected to adorn skid plates.
The insides of the SUV are liable to be more advanced contrasted with the outgoing model with an upgraded dashboard and focus support, new controls for the ventilation system and the next generation Ford SYNC2 infotainment system.
In India, motor choices for the Endeavour which are expected are a a 2.2-liter, 4-cylinder diesel and a 3.2-liter 5-cylinder diesel unit. The vehicle will be accessible in two-wheel drive and four-wheel drive system with manual and automatic transmissions. It will come to us via the CKD route through Thailand. Expect it to be priced between Rs 20-25 lakhs and will take on the likes of Ssangyong Rexton, Pajero Sport, Fortuner and Yeti.
