First-time ever in India, Audi launched the new A6 facelift with Matrix LED headlights in unique way just by sharing a video via Whatsapp, there was no media invite too.
The fourth-gen Audi A6 was launched first in 2011, and the new 2015 facelift version with Matrix LED headlights was unveiled in September-2014, just ahead of the 2014 Frankfurt Motor Show. This new version gets a raft of changes including some exterior changes, updated engines, Matrix LED headlights (optional), plus a new infotainment system which make the executive sedan more efficient, more powerful, more attractive and more sophisticated than ever.
Design-wise, the new A6 facelift gets Audi’s most recent chrome-flanked single-frame grille, revised headlights, larger air intakes, re-designed front and rear bumpers, new rear-lights and tailpipes. Audi optionally offers headlights with LED technology or Matrix LED technology, combined with dynamic turn signals. The side profile is identical to the current model, except for the new set of alloys.
On the inside, it receives new upholstery and bits of trim to rejuvenate the cabin, along with the updated Audi’s MMi (Multi Media Interface) infotainment system – which is standard along with an automatic air conditioning system, navigation unit and the various driver-oriented functions of the car. On the chassis side, Audi drive select dynamic handling system is standard across the board, with two sport suspensions and a adaptive air suspension setups available as options.
On the mechanical side of things, Audi has decided to bring in updated engines along for the facelift. For now the new A6 facelift will only be available on 2.0-litre TDI diesel engine generating 190 hp of power mated to a 7-speed S Tronic transmission, which powers the front-wheels. The company claims that the power output increased by seven percent and fuel efficiency by five percent. The car propels from 0-100 kmph in 8.4 seconds.
The new 2015 Audi A6 facelift is now on-sale in India priced at Rs. 49.50 lakh (ex-showroom Mumbai and Delhi).
