2014 Ford Fiesta sedan – FrontView
After the recent launch of Ford EcoSport a couple of months ago and gaining enormous success in the Indian market, Ford India has now planned to introduce the facelifted version of the Fiesta early next-year as per the reports obtained from AutoCarIndia. The upcoming facelifted Fiesta is based on the European model, as a result it would feature changes to styling but the specifications under the hood would remain the same.
Ford India has been introducing different Fiesta line-up since its launch. The facelifted Fiesta features same headlamps along with some of the angled cuts already seen in the recently updated Fiesta. Apart from this, the facelifted Fiesta is also expected to be equipped with new fog lamps, new retweaked bumpers which also have a humongous front engine grille (which is somewhat closer to the one equipped in Ford EcoSport).
Coming to the technical specifications, the facelifted Fiesta would be powered with the same 1.5-litre petrol engine that produces a maximum power of 110hp at 140Nm of torque, as well as another 1.5-litre diesel engine that will produce a maximum power of 92PS at 204Nm of torque. While the 1.5-litre diesel engine is mated to a 5-speed manual transmission gearbox, the 1.5-litre petrol gets both 5-speed manual and 6-speed automatic gearbox options. Surprisingly, the 1.0-litre EcoBoost engine that does duty in the EcoSport will not make it into the Fiesta.
We expect Ford India to unveil the updated Fiesta at the 2014 Indian Auto Expo. And is believed to be priced aggressively, starting from Rs. 6.99 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
