2014 Auto Expo – UM Motorcycles makes show debut with DSR, XTREET X6, HYPERSPORT, RENEGADE, STREET R, COMMANDO & SPORT

International  low cost two-wheeler maker, United Motors has finally made its debut in India after tasting success in  around 20 markets around the globe including Africa, South America and Asia. On its debut ground at the 2014 Indian Auto Expo in New Delhi, the company displayed a wide range of bikes as well as merchandise. We are presenting a glimpse of what all the company put up for show –
 
DSR – Based on a 5-speed manual transmission, this is a single cylinder, 199 cc 4-stroke air cooled bike. This can churn out 14.75 hp of maximum power and 15 Nm of maximum torque. With its CDI ignition,  disk brake up front and a drum at the rear, this becomes a perfect low cost city ride.

Xtreet X6 – The 180.4cc 4-stroke single cylinder engine runs this elegant looking bike. The engine produces a maximum of 16.55 hp power at 8500 rpm and a maximum of 14.14 Nm torque at 7500 rpm. Other features include dual disk brakes,  5-speed manual transmission and CDI ignition.

DSR Hypersport – Going up the order, the 223cc, single cylinder, 4-stroke bike can generate maximum of 17.27 hp power at 8000 rpm and maximum of 16.86 Nm torque at 4000 rpm. The hydraulic ventilated disk brakes and 5 speed manual transmission make other features.

Renegade Duty – The flagship 137.8cc bike from UM Global can churn out a maximum of 10.97 hp at 7900 rpm and 10.53 Nm of maximum torque at 5600 rpm. A reinforced chain and a disk brake up front are the other noteworthy features.

Renegade Commando – The power-pack 223cc engine provides the necessary push to this bike. It can churn out up to 18 hp of power at 8000 rpm and 15.5 Nm of maximum torque at 5500 rpm. It also boasts of a disk brake up front and drum on the rear.

Renegade Sport – This is a 223cc single cylinder 4-stroke motorbike which can churn out up to 18 hp at 8500 rpm and 15 Nm at 7500 rpm.
 
Initially, UM Motorcycles will bring the motorcycles via the CKD route with extensive local sourcing. The company will start manufacturing the bikes at its Uttarakhand plant starting from mid-2015. Out of the six bikes to be launched, three will be from the cruiser range while three will be from the Sport range, all of them were showcased at the Auto Expo. All these bikes are expected to be priced between Rs. 1-1.5 lakhs (ex-showroom).
