Yamaha Motor India today launched the Yamaha Saluto RX priced at Rs. 46,400 (ex-showroom, Delhi), positioned below the Yamaha Saluto is a replacement for the Crux and YBR in the company’s model line-up.
Called the Saluto RX, the latest entrant is the most affordable Yamaha motorcycle in the country. However, this time around the name isn’t reserved for a light, wheelie-loving stroker. But for a basic sub-segment of 100-110cc motorcycle, which accounts for 23% of overall 70 lakh units sold annually in 100-110cc industry, Yamaha has now re-entered into the Indian mass motorcycle segment.
To satisfy the primary need of this category which is mileage, the Saluto RX’s engine is developed along the lines of BlueCore technology, to improve the efficiency without compromising on the performance. It delivers 84 KMPL (mileage based on internal Yamaha test ride). A 110 cc air-cooled engine mated to a 4-speed gearbox, develops 7.4 BHP @ 7,000 rpm and 8.5 Nm of torque @ 4,500 rpm.
On the style front, the Saluto RX comes with stylish graphics, impressive exhaust, 17-inch alloy wheels and a single contoured seat. A total of 4 colours are on offer – Matte Black, Breezy Blue, Inspiring Red and Gleaming Black. It will compete with Honda’s Dream Series and the new Livo models, TVS Motor’s recently launched 110cc Victor.
