Yamaha India scheduled to launch Ray scooter by October, 2012

The Japanese bike maker, Yamaha Motor to launch their first scooter christened as ‘Ray’ in India. Earlier it was displayed as a prototype at the 2012 Delhi Auto Expo, the stylish, small capacity (125cc) scooter targets the fairer sex.

Additional features adorned in Yamaha Ray include dynamic and elegant design, powerful, and fuel efficient engine, comfortable long and wide seat, large storage space, smooth suspension, dynamic braking system, stylish headlamps, silver tone back mirror, impressive instrument panel and stylish alloy wheels. It will be available in two color options of pink and yellow.

Yamaha Ray scooter will be targeted towards woman riders and expected to bear a price tag of around Rs. 50,000/-. The scooter will be launched in the month of October, 2012. Yamaha plans to launch only Ray scooter for the year 2012, so we can expect FZ or Fazer 250 only in the year 2013.

The Yamaha Ray will compete against the Suzuki Access and Piaggio Vespa. These vehicles will be rolling out of Yamaha’s Surajpur facility in Uttar Pradesh. The company is also planning to build a new plant in South India. Seems like the Japanese major has quite a few exciting things planned for India.
