Spied – New 2012 Maruti Suzuki Ritz facelift, yet again!

Just last we brought you a first spy picture of the rear of the new 2012 Maruti Ritz facelift. Now thanks to Gaddi.com having managed to click the front fascia of the Ritz test mule, its front end camouflaged while the sides and the rear were clearly visible. According to the same, Maruti might launch this face-lifted Ritz in the Indian market by March 2012 at the same prices as the current one.

Having its elder brother Swift received a complete makeover, it is now time for the Ritz to get liberal makeover. Look closely and you can see new hood lines which are more muscular and prominent as in the new Swift. The front grille has minor tweaks with slightly prominent mesh grille. The fog lamps housing also gets a new shape like in the new Dzire.

Coming to the interior, The Ritz may also get an interior upgrade on the similar lines of the Swift with new center console and steering mounted controls. It is surprising Maruti has ignored the car’s rear. From the image shot earlier reveals that no alterations have been made to the rear of the car.

Apart from the changes made to the exterior, the car is expected to get a heart transplant too it is expected to get the new 1.2-litre K-series petrol motor and the 1.3-litre DDiS diesel motor from the new Swift. At present, the 1.2-litre petrol engine of the new Swift, puts out 86 bhp of power and returns an ARAI-certified mileage of 18.6 kmpl while the 1.3-litre diesel engine puts out 75 bhp of power and returns an ARAI-certified mileage of 22.9 kmpl.

The new engines will likely make the Ritz, slightly more fuel efficient than the outgoing model which has ARAI-certified mileage of 17.70 kmpl for the petrol version and 21.10 kmpl for the diesel version.

Maruti Suzuki Ritz was launched on 15th May 2009 and was priced below the Swift’s price range. The Ritz offers slightly better ‘value for money’ than the Swift as it comes with the same engines as the Swift, but with a little more mileage.

Nissan India has launched its popular global Sedan based on V-Platform called the Nissan Sunny in India in Mumbai today. The car is available in three versions – the base XE, the mid-level XL and the top-end XV. According to ARAI, the Sunny will return a mileage of 16.95 kmpl. ABS and driver side airbag is standard on all variants. Bookings will start from September 21, 2011, with deliveries commencing on October 3, 2011. The XE (Base variant) features a body-coloured bumpers, an on-board drive computer, manually adjustable anti-dazzling mirror, headlight-on and key-inserted warning lamp, ABS, EBD and Brake Assistance, Driver Airbag and Door Ajar warning. Whereas the XL (mid-level variant) includes all features of the XE along with body-coloured, electronically adjustable outside rear-view mirrors, chrome-plated outside door handles and radiator grille, rear defroster, an integrated audio system with four speakers and AUX, steering-mounted audio controls, rear A/C vents, auto-down feature on driver-side power window, remote keyless entry, front passenger airbag, anti-theft alarm and speed-sensing automatic door locks. The XV (top-end variant) gets all the above features plus adds alloy wheels and electronically folding rear-view mirrors. The tenth-generation Nissan Sunny is based on the popular V (Versatile) platform, the same as the one used in the Nissan Micra. The Sunny made its global debut at the eighth International Automobile Exhibition in China (Guangzhou) last December. The Indian launch, expected to coincide with the festive season, will see the Sunny come in with a 1.5-litre petrol motor only. The carmaker will showcase a 1.5-litre diesel-powered Sunny at the Auto-Expo in Delhi next year, with the official launch in the first quarter of 2012. In terms of looks, the Sunny appears to be quite large with its big boot, long wheelbase and massive cabin, especially when viewed from the rear three-quarter. It gets some of its styling cues from the bigger Teana as well. On the inside, Nissan has tried to make the cabin look upmarket. Overall plastic quality and fit and finish are up to expectations.
