Spied – Ford EcoSport production version caught testing in China

Ford EcoSport was showcased first in the recently organized World’s second largest event Auto Expo at Pragati Maidan in New Delhi, but soon after the car was seen testing across the China roads. According to the sources, the original production version of EcoSport will be little different from its concept version, showcased at the 2012 Delhi Auto Expo.

Interestingly, the Ford Ecosport SUV thus spotted was almost production ready. So we can expect the Ford Ecosport launch in India sooner than expected. The Ford Ecosport price is expected to be in the range of Rs 8.5 lakh to Rs 9 lakh.

It is expected that the production variant will adopt various features from its concept version including the overall dimension, alloy design and tailgate mounted spare wheel design. The string of LEDs will be the new feature replacing the conventional headlamps of the concept version. Its front fascia will be wider having organization of chrome grill.

Ford EcoSport production version - Rearend

The next generation Ford EcoSport SUV will be based on the B-platform. However, the interior of the upcoming 2012 Ford EcoSport is still be to unwrapped by the company that gave the tinted windows over its interior during the showcase. This Ford SUV will be power-packed with a 1.0 litre Ecoboost petrol engine producing maximum power of 120PS and torque of 170Nm.

This engine will offer 20 percent better fuel efficiency than the conventional 1.0 litre engine. It diesel variant will share the same engine with the new Ford Fiesta, a 1.5 Duratorg engine. By considering the increasing popularity of the vehicle, Ford is planning to sell it over the 100 markets across the world. As per the sources, the Ford EcoSport will be export in the Nepalese auto market in the month of December 2012, from the company’s Chennai manufacturing plant.

Skoda had launched newer version of its Fabia called Fabia Scout. New Fabia Sout is available in two variants,  1.2-litre petrol and diesel variants. New Fabia Sout comes with cladding on the sides and projector beam headlamps.  . The front bumper gets a chin spoiler while the rear bumper comes with a diffuser.  Interiors of the Scout feature door-sill trims and   a sporty steel pedal set. The ride height of new Scout  remains the same as the regular one, but the Equipment levels are quite good and the Scout gets dual airbags, integrated music system, keyless entry and tinted glasses.
