2016 BMW X1 crossover

The most affordable BMW in the country, the BMW X1 is all set to get a mid-career facelift tomorrow for the Indian market and this comes as a stop gap arrangement before the car gets a major overhaul in 2016 which is precisely when the next generation of the car would get launched globally. And today we have for you the rendering of the 2016 BMW X1 which would drive the sales volumes of the company up north.

The 2016 BMW X1 will get styled quite aggressively and will borrow the design cues from the latest avatar of the BMW 3-Series. The car’s front fascia would resemble the least priced sedan in the BMW line-up and is expected to get the same engines options as well. The BMW X1 would also get the 1.5-litre, 3-cylinder engines which will have a power output in the range of 135-272 bhp with the diesel hearts getting a state of tune which would be between 116-231 bhp.

A ‘M’ badged X1 is also on the cards and will be the top of the line variant meant for the performace hungry enthusiasts. An electric hybrid variant of the car will also make its way to the production with a power output of 190 horses and a fuel efficiency of a whopping 47.6 kilometres to a litre. The car will get a sharper styling than the outgoing model and this will surely attract a lot of buyers to the BMW camp.

The BMW X1 would grow in terms of length and will have a longer wheelbase than the current model as the current one does not really have a spacious rear seat. Also the car has been loosing out customers constantly with the launch of the Audi Q3 but when the next generation of the var comes in, it might just become the bestseller again. After all, it’s a BMW on budget.
