With already Yamaha’s R15 v3.0 pipelined for launch in this month, Yamaha has already started developing Ray 125 in order to compete the best selling Honda Activa which has already showcased its 125cc version at the 2014 Auto Expo. As per the report obtained, Yamaha will launch the new 125 cc Ray around September this year.
Earlier at the Auto Expo, When Yamaha had launched the 113cc Ray it had also promised that a similar scooter based on the same platform was going to follow soon, which is now confirmed to be the 125 cc Ray. As per the report, the new Ray 125 would feature improved fuel efficiency and disc brakes at the front since rivals such as recently launched Activa 125 and Vespa VX are already been equipped with this feature.
Coming to the technical specifications, Yamaha’s new Ray 125 is expected to carry the same 113 cc engine which is currently powering the existing Ray, only with increased bore specifications.
