SPIED: TVS Jupiter 125 with heavy camouflage – FI, Disc Brake, Engine Kill Switch

TVS is planning to give its super successful scooter, the Jupiter, a bigger heart of 125cc. The company has confirmed that it will launch a new scooter in this fiscal year, reports say that the 125cc Jupiter is on its way soon, probably during the upcoming festive season.

These spy images show that the scooter is wrapped in heavy camouflage, as well as some changes both inside and out compared to the current scooter. The most notable ones are the digital-cum analogue speedometer as well as a front disc brake.

But, the most important change is that the scooter will come with Fuel Injection (FI) system, which not many scooters possess in India. TVS has increased the displacement of the scooter from 110cc to 125cc in order to enter the profitable 125cc scooter segment. Engine specifications have not yet been revealed, but the scooter is expected to come with more power than its 110cc sibling, which delivers 7.88 bhp at 7500rpm taking 11.2 seconds to reach 0-60 kmph. The scooter is also expected to have an ‘Econometer’, seen on its 110cc sibling, which in return gives a healthy 62 kmpl.

The company has so far sold more than 1.5 million units of the 110cc Jupiter since the scooter was launched in September-2013. With the bigger displacement one coming soon, it may only increase the popularity of the scooter. The scooter will give tough competition to the Honda Activate 125 and the Suzuki Access 125, when it gets launched.
