BSIV compliant TVS Apache RTR 200 4V Carburetor variant launched

With the BSIV emission norms to come into effect from 1st April 2017, TVS Motor Company has updated the Apache RTR 200 4V Carburetor variant to meet BS IV emission norms and feature auto headlamp on (AHO) with a minor price hike of Rs. 2700/-.

On the updated Apache RTR 200 4V with AHO, TVS has removed the headlamp switch from it and gets BS-IV sticker in the engine guard.

The Apache RTR 200 4V updated for the 2017 model year gets 3 changes – it’s now BS-IV compliant and gets a BS-IV sticker on the right side belly pan. The headlight gets AHO function and thus the headlight on/off switch has been removed from it. The company has also started offering stickier Pirelli tyres as optional extras in place of the TVS Remora tyres for an additional Rs. 7500/-.

In our previous post, we had mentioned that the addition of extra panel besides battery cover/case is meant for Fuel-Injection models. But now having visited the TVS showroom we are aware that even the carburetor variant gets this extra panel but it will be unused.

In some cities, BS-IV versions of the Apache 160 and Apache 180 too have arrived. However, there are still no signs of the FI (Fuel-Injected) or dual-channel ABS models.
