Etios CS looks cute!!! Another model to join the race of compact sedans next-year, the compact version of Toyota Etios sedan called the Etios CS (the possible name for the shortened Etios sedan). The Etios CS will be slot between the Etios hatch and the sedan, with a price range of Rs. 5-7 lakhs. This is the first car from the Japanese carmaker aimed at the volume selling segment of the car market.
Currently Maruti Swift Dzire and Tata Indigo CS cars are doing well in the compact segment, while Honda and Mahindra are all-set to launch their compact sedans Amaze and Verito respectively. Now Toyota understood the market potential in India for a compact sedan that comes with the promise of reliability and developed the Etios compact sedan specifically for India.
The Toyota Etios Compact Sedan is likely to borrow the same engines that does the duty in Etios Liva hatch, a 1.2-litre petrol engine producing 80 BHP and a 1.4-litre diesel engine producing 67 BHP. The diesel engine, is well known for its fuel efficiency and amazing city drivability and powers the bigger Etios sedan as well. The compact sedan will have a smaller boot to keep the length under 4-metres just like other compact sedans.
Toyota has not yet spoken about coming up with an Etios CS but there surely is a possibility that an Etios CS may debut with the facelift just like the Maruti Swift Dzire which was re-launched, under 4-metre in length.
