SX4 Diesel

Merely 20 days after the diesel version of the Maruti Suzuki SX4 was launched, the company has received more than 5000 bookings. Shashank Srivastava, Chief General Manager, Marketing, Maruti Suzuki India, said, “We have received an overwhelming response for the SX4 diesel. Our target was 2000 units per month but with this kind of response we will have to work harder to cater to the demand.”

Maruti Suzuki is planning to open another plant – an extension to the Manesar Plant which will have a production capacity of 2.5-lakh unit of cars a year. At present the company’s plant including Gurgaon and Manesar have a combined production capacity of 1.2 million cars a year. Maruti has said that the plant will be operational in Q1 next year. With new cars like the all-new Swift in the pipeline, and a new plant at a near operational stage, Maruti Suzuki is chalking out a plan to meet the increasing demand.

Well the launch of SX4 Diesel has surely sent a scary wave to VW Vento, Hyundai Verna, Ford Fiesta, Fiat Linea, Tata Manza and most importantly the Honda City. What do you think will you choose the SX4 Diesel over the rivals?
